A man has died after a car ploughed into a house in the Toowoomba region late on Christmas Day, police have confirmed.
The holiday tragedy unfolded after the vehicle was allegedly driven into the Millmerran residence about 9.30pm on Saturday.
A 55-year-old man who was inside the house at the time was fatally wounded.
The driver, a 30-year-old man, fled on foot, police allege.
A Queensland Police spokesman said he was found at a nearby address and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
Detectives and the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating to uncover the circumstances of the 55-year-old’s death.
