Dr Jordan Peterson has been roasted online for sharing a “male milking” BDSM fetish porn video falsely portrayed as being from a Chinese Communist Party “sperm bank”.
“Such fun in unbelievable techno-nightmare CCP hell,” the Canadian psychologist wrote on Twitter on Saturday in the since-deleted post.
The extremely graphic video, shared by an account purporting to document human rights abuses in China, showed three naked men lying in hospital beds attached to “male milking machines”.
“What’s going on in China? Three children policy?” the account captioned the post.
Dr Peterson’s daughter Mikhaila Peterson replied, “DAD you can’t retweet this on Twitter. My eyes will never recover.”
Twitter users quickly pointed out that the video was from a UK-based fetish porn studio.
“So just to be 100 per cent clear — Jordan Peterson just unironically retweeted a video of a BDSM ‘male milking’ dungeon in the UK claimed to be footage of human rights abuses in China,” wrote journalist Anna Slatz.
“One man’s techno-nightmare hell is another man’s techno-nightmare heaven.”
The original account later apologised, writing, “Sorry. My mistake. I found this video on WeChat and they said this is China’s collection room for sperm bank. Turns out that this video is from UK.”
Dr Peterson deleted the post without comment, but the X-rated slip-up quickly saw the controversial author and internet personality trending on Twitter.
“I am trying to read Twitter on a flight next to innocent seatmates, and every tenth tweet is a screenshot of Jordan Peterson RTing d**k milking content. So I guess the site still has some magic,” said Johnny McNulty.
“Not sure how I’m going to recover from Jordan Peterson tweeting a male milking fetish video because he thinks it’s a real Chinese government policy,” wrote Will Sommer.
“For the love of God will someone take away Jordan Peterson’s Twitter account,” added Harry Khachatrian.
“The Ontario College of Psychologists asking Dr Jordan Peterson about the c**k-milking machine tweet … will this upcoming hearing be televised? PPV?” asked Jesse Hawken.
Dr Peterson is currently facing disciplinary action by the College of Psychologists of Ontario over a number of his public statements on topics including transgender ideology and climate change.
The professional body has ordered him to undergo compulsory social media training or face an in-person tribunal hearing, where he is at risk of losing his clinical license.
He has refused to comply with the training and has filed an application for judicial review with the Ontario Divisional Court.
The threat to revoke his license — which was criticised in an open letter by a group of 75 public intellectuals last month — is largely symbolic as Dr Peterson has not practised clinical psychology for several years.
Dr Peterson, who toured Australia in November to promote his new book Beyond Order, the sequel to his 2018 bestseller 12 Rules for Life, shot to global fame in 2016 over his outspoken opposition to “woke” left-wing ideologies.
But he largely disappeared from public life for much of 2019 and 2020 after struggling with benzodiazepine addiction, with the news of his drug usage and health battle coming as a shock to fans.
Things took an even darker turn in early 2020, when Dr Peterson sought alternative treatment for benzodiazepine dependence in a Russian hospital after what Mikhaila claimed was repeated misdiagnosis in North American hospitals.
Dr Peterson came down with pneumonia and was put into an induced coma for eight days in a Moscow hospital, according to Canada’s National Post. He began to recover, moving to a clinic in Florida and then Belgrade — before being struck down by Covid.
“He nearly died several times,” Mikhaila said.
In an interview with his daughter in June 2020, Dr Peterson discussed his difficult road to recovery — and freely acknowledged the effect on his image, describing a drug dependence as “ethically questionable”.
“Because you think, well, the person obviously made some errors in choice that contributed to this,” he said.
“Like, why would anyone take anything I say seriously?”
He returned to Canada in October 2020, telling YouTube viewers he hoped to “return to something resembling a normal life”.
In 2021 he released Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, and officially resigned from the University of Toronto, becoming an emeritus professor.
In July last year Dr Peterson announced he had joined conservative media company The Daily Wire to produce content for its subscription service DailyWire+.
He made headlines in September after losing his composure during an interview with British TV host Piers Morgan, while responding to criticism from Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde.
