Kim Kardashian’s new photos of California mansion compared to ‘psych ward’

Fans have rubbished Kim Kardashian’s home decor skills after she posted photos of the “things at home that make me happy”.

The Kardashians star, 42, took to Instagram to share several unseen snaps of her home in Hidden Hills, California, with some comparing the stark interior to a “psych ward”, New York Post reports.

In one photo, she showed off her bedroom which featured white and grey marble walls. In a second, a huge piece of artwork with a blue dot in the middle on a grey stone wall was photographed.

One photo showed what appeared to be her living room, which was decorated with matching chairs and a couch, a throw blanket and a rug. Everything in the room, including the walls, was the same cream/beige colour.

And in two of the snaps, she teased the parts of her home that are undergoing construction, which included two stone ottomans and a blueprint for an all-brown room.

Following her post, many fans took to the comment section to slam her interior design skills, comparing her home to a “prison”.

“I felt cold looking at this,” one popular comment read.

“That is such a depressing looking house,” another person wrote.

“Kimberly, there are penitentiaries cosier than this,” someone else bluntly wrote, while another person said, “It’s giving solitary confinement [vibes].”

“Looks like you live in hell Kim,” another person added, while someone else compared it to a “psych ward”.

“I would feel like I’m sleeping in a morgue in that bedroom,” someone wrote of the all-marble space.

Kardashian’s 334 million Instagram followers aren’t the only ones to criticise her mansion, though. The mogul previously revealed that her nine-year-old daughter, North West, frequently labels the home “ugly”.

“Every time I get into some kind of disagreement with my daughter North, she thinks this is a dig to me, and she’ll say, ‘Your house is so ugly. It’s all white. Who lives like this?’” she said on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show last October.

“She just thinks it like gets to me,” she continued. “And it is kind of mean because I like my house.”

Kardashian bought the property with ex-husband Kanye West in 2014. The pair underwent extensive renovations which took six years to complete.

The exes paid $26 million for the house and spent a massive $52 million on renovations before moving into it in 2018.

As part of their divorce, Kardashian bought out West’s half so she could keep the property.
